Cutblock

Cutblock

A cutblock, also known as a clearcut, is a logging operation where all trees in a location are removed. The harvested area can grow back naturally or be replanted. Depending on the amount of consideration taken when planning and harvesting cutblocks, they can be ecologically sustainable and beneficial or ecologically detrimental. Cutblocks are often beneficial when designed properly for wildlife, as they provide areas of thick vegetation that can be used for food and/or cover.
