Rufus Hardy (representative)

Rufus Hardy (December 16, 1855 - March 13, 1943) was a United States Representative of the Democratic Party from the state of Texas.

Hardy was born Monroe County, Mississippi and went to school in Mississippi, Texas and Georgia. He received his law degree from the University of Georgia in 1875.

He served as a prosecuting attorney, district attorney and district judge before deciding to run for office. Hardy served in the House from 1907 - 1923. After serving in congress he returned to practicing law.
