- Historic motorsport
Historic motorsport tends to be the opposite of modern motor racing that is centered on modern technology with a lots of corporate sponsors and politics involved. Instead historical racing relies on cars of a particular era and rarely politics as they are merely seen as hobbies. Events are purely regulated to allow cars being around of a certain era to partipicate and only timing and safety device is the thing that is modern of it. A historical event can be of various different type of motorsport disciplines. Notably some of the most famous events of them all are the
Goodwood Festival of Speed andGoodwood Revival in Britain andMonterey Historic in theUnited States . Championships range from "grass root"Austin Seven racing to theFIA Thoroughbred Grand Prix Championship for classicFormula One chassis. While there are several professional teams and drivers in historical racing, this branch of
auto sport tends to be contested by wealthy car owners and is thus more amateur and laid back in its approach. One advantage of historical motorsport is that once a series for a particular category is introduced, it helps to increase the value of its competing cars, sometimes approaching the million dollar mark, therefore as a result, many of these are carefully driven by its owners and are occasionally used to bring in spectators.Notable historic motorsport events
