WJCW originally signed on in
1938 as WJHL, owned by John H. Lancaster, Sr. It was the second radio station in the Tri-Cities. Under Lancaster's son and grandson, the station spawned an FM station (nowWBGQ ) and a television station (still under theWJHL-TV calls).WJHL-AM was eventually sold later to James C. Wilson (son of the founder of the area's first radio station, WOPI) and renamed WJCW. In
1990 , it became the Tri-Cities' first news/talk station.Programming
WJCW airs a local morning show entitled "Thinking Out Loud" as well as
Mike Gallagher ,The Rush Limbaugh Show ,The Sean Hannity Show ,Mark Levin ,Dennis Miller ,Jim Bohannon ,Lars Larson andDave Graveline . The station also carriesImus in the Morning through a link on its Web site, although not over the air. WJCW also airs specially-built replays of Limbaugh, Hannity and Levin during the weekends in their regular weekday time slots.The station is an affiliate of the
