Plastic Logic

Plastic Logic is a spin-off company from Cambridge University's Cavendish Laboratory, and is a pioneer in polymer transistors and electronics. The technology could cut the price for electronic circuitry by up to 90 per cent and hasten the day when goods including cans of baked beans and items of clothing are made of “intelligent” materials. The principal product the company has developed is a flexible A4-size plastic electronic display the thickness of a credit-card. These devices are intended as a replacement for paper, allowing electronic documents to be transported and read just like paper documents. Mass-production of the displays will begin in Dresden in 2009.
