The Buckley School (New York City)

The Buckley School is a K-9 all-boys' private school on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York City. Its motto is "Honor et Veritas" (Honor and Truth) and its official seal is a shield. Above the shield is a sword handle and below it is the nib of a pen, signifying that the pen is mightier than the sword. In the top portion of the shield is the school's motto and in the central part of the shield the letters "BS" are inscribed in a circle, with rays protruding from the circle to the edge of the shield, signifying the wisdom that the school embodies. The School's colors are royal blue and white.

Organization

The School is divided into three divisions: Beginners (kindergarten) through Class III form the Lower School, Class IV through Class VI form the Middle School, and Class VII through Class IX form the Upper School. The grades are referred to as classes followed by their number (expressed in roman numerals). The school's headmaster is Mr. Gregory O'Melia and the school's assistant headmistress is Mrs. Caroline Berry.
