Sir Ralph Delaval, 1st Baronet

Sir Ralph Delaval (13 October 1622 – 29 August 1691) was an English landowner and politician who was created 1st Baronet of Seaton in the Baronetage of England in 29 June 1660 in the reign of Charles II.

He was the son of Robert Delaval and was educated at Queens College, Oxford.He matriculated in 1638 and was admitted to Lincolns Inn.

He was High Sheriff of Northumberland in 1649 and served as Member of Parliament for Northumberland 1659-1661 and 1677-1685.

The family seat was at Seaton Delaval, Northumberland. He developed the family's commercial interests by building a harbour and sluice gates at nearby Hartley Pans, which came to be known as Seaton Sluice.

He was succeeded firstly by his eldest son Ralph and later by a younger son John
