Kyokushin karate .Kumite , one of the three main sections of karate training, involves training against an opponent. The 100-man kumite consists of 100 rounds, each between one-and-a-half and two minutes in length, against 100 opponents, ideally a different opponent for each round. The challenge was devised by
Masutatsu Oyama , founder of Kyokushin and the first person to complete it. He completed the kumite 3 times over 3 consecutive days. The second wasSteve Arneil . As of 2007, only 16 people are known to have completed the challenge.
