Aire Soláthairtí) was created by the [http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/1939_36.html Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939] , to assist Ireland (Éire) through World War II, or The Emergency, as referred to by the Government of Ireland. The minister's functions were transferred to the Minister for Industry & Commerce on abolition of the office.
