Jillian Skinner

Jillian Gell Skinner, MP (born 5 August 1944) is an Australian politician, elected as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly. She is currently Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Shadow Minister for Health, Shadow Minister for Science and Medical Research, and Shadow Minister for Arts

Skinner was born in Melbourne, Australia, and educated at the Presbyterian Ladies' College, Melbourne.cite web |url=http://www.jillianskinner.com/Jillian%20Skinner/About_Jillian.html |title=About Jillian |accessdate=2008-02-01 |publisher=Jillian Skinner] She was a journalist in Hong Kong from 1962 to 1973, and has lived in Sydney since 1979. From 1984 to 1988 she was involved in editorial writing, research, policy development and strategic planning. From 1988 to 1994 she was Director of the New South Wales Office of Youth Affairs. Skinner has represented North Shore for the Liberal Party of Australia since a by-election in 1994.
