Ray Seggern

Ray Seggern is a radio personality and marketing consultant living in Austin, TX. Seggern worked on the air as a news reporter and broadcast anchor at radio stations KUT and KVET, but really become known for his turns as "Raydog" on alternative rock stations like Austin's KROX-FM (101-X), KNNC (K-Knack) and KTND (The End), as well as Tulsa [http://www.edgetulsa.com Z-104.5 The Edge] ), along the way working every airshift from overnights to morning drive, and administrative positions including Music Director and Promotions Director.

In 2000, Seggern received an award as Medium (-sized) Market Music Director of the Year among all alternative rock stations in the US from industry tipsheet The Gavin Report. In 2001, Billboard nominated him for a similar award. In 1999, Tulsa's AWRT chapter designated him as the market's Promotions/Marketing Director of the Year. In 1994, He received a "Best Of Austin" award for "Late Night Radio" from "The Austin Chronicle".

Through the years, Seggern also worked as a freelance writer in Austin, started a record company (Reservoir Records), put on rock concerts with notorious Austin concert promoter Jim Ramsey, and in 2001 started a weekly newspaper in Tulsa called "The Tulsa Independent", loosely modeled on the "Austin Chronicle"

In 2003, Seggern took a client consulting position in the home office of The [http://www.wizardofads.com Wizard of Ads] Group, fronted by best-selling author Roy H. Williams. In 2006, he accepted an offer from Williams to become a partner in the firm.

That same year, he returned to the airwaves in Austin, hosting the Sunday morning program [http://www.chillville.com Chillville] on [http://www.krox.com 101-X] . In March 2007, Chillville was named among the top radio programs in the 2006-2007 Austin Music Awards during Austin's annual South By Southwest Music Festival

He lives in Austin with his wife and two daughters.
