The Letterkenny Shopping Centre is a shopping centre in Letterkenny, Ireland. It is the largest shopping centre in County Donegalcite web|url=http://archives.tcm.ie/businesspost/2004/12/12/story934.asp|title=Relaunch for Letterkenny Shopping Centre|date=2004-12-12|accessdate=2007-10-11|publisher=Sunday Business Post] , and was the first of several such complexes in Letterkenny. While originally built on the outskirts of the town, urban expansion means it now lies in the town proper. Letterkenny has been identified as one of Europe's fastest growing towns by business owners. [cite web|url=http://www.fyini.com/pages/viewstory.asp?itemID=88|title=THE PLAYERS|date=2005-09-05|accessdate=2007-10-12|publisher=fyini.com]

The main anchor stores have been Quinnsworth (now Tesco) and Penneys department store. The shopping centre comprises 11,705 m² of retail space and over 40 retail units.

Redevelopment

The centre remained largely unchanged until 2004, when the centre was expanded cite web|url=http://www.independent.ie/unsorted/property/new-look-for-donegal-centre-144690.html|title=New look for Donegal centre|date=2004-11-24|accessdate=2007-10-11|publisher=Irish Independent] , and new lighting, flooring and decor were added. More retail units were constructed along with the expansion of the Tesco outlet and thus becoming "one of the Major developments in Ireland" [http://www.ucd.ie/alumni/ucd_connections/ucdconnections10/ucdpg8_9.pdf] . The carpark was extended to allow for a capacity of 550. The entire project was overseen by the Burke Morrison Engineering firm. [http://www.burkemorrison.com/projects.asp]
