Michael R. Buchmeiser

Michael R. Buchmeiser (born March 8 1967 in Linz, Austria) is an Austrian chemist.

Professor Michael R. Buchmeiser received his Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He then spent one year at MIT as post-doctoral fellow in the The Schrock Group of Richard R. Schrock. In 1995 he accepted a position as Assistant Professor at the University of Innsbruck where he was appointed Associate Professor for macromolecular chemistry in 1998.

His research interests focus on Transition Metal Catalyzed Polymerizations, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis as well as opto-electronic applications of smart polymers.

Michael R. Buchmeiser received the Brandl Award 1998, the Start Award 2001 and the Novartis Award 2001.
