The village of Patibandla is in
Pedakurapadu Mandal , situated towards north-west ofGuntur , in theIndia n state ofAndhra Pradesh . Patibanda is a big village consisting of about 6,000 inhabitants of whom 3000 areRoman Catholic s. The great famine of 1832 and the political disturbances drove some of the catholic families north from the districts ofChingleput ,Chittoor and parts ofNellore andKurnool . Their main occupation is cultivation. The faith of these simple Christians is so deep that a good number of boys and girls dedicated themselves to the service of the Lord and the Church. About 31 priests and 130 nuns hail from Patibanda. Most Rev. Gali bali, the present bishop of Guntur hails from this village.
*Historic Epiphany Church was built under the supervision of Rev. Fr.J. Gyssman in 1921.The farmers of this village are very knowledged and they were interested in modern techniques to get more yielding with compare to the farmers of other villages. People are very friendly
