From here on it is called the Oude Rijn and drains into theNorth Sea atKatwijk .At Utrecht, the Leidse Rijn crosses the Merwede Canal and the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal. Besides Utrecht, it flows also through the municipality of
Woerden .
