The Footage

On November 22, 1963, Mr. Jefferies was in Dallas, Texas to see President John F. Kennedy in his motorcade. Using an 8mm camera, he took one of the best views of Mrs. Jackie Kennedy before the president was assassinated. Jefferies' film also shows Jackie's Secret Service bodyguard, Clint Hill, riding on the car’s rear bumper for her protection. The footage is especially significant because it shows Kennedy’s coat bunched up at his neck, a detail that appeased conspiracy theorists who have long questioned why the bullet hole in his body and coat had not matched up as expected. Mr. Jefferies thought his footage was insignificant and kept it in a drawer for over 40 years until he mentioned it to his son-in-law, who in turn convinced him to donate it to the Sixth Floor Museum. [ [http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2007/02/20/ap3443751.html Forbes news article] ]
