High and Mighty is a clothing retailer for tall men in the United Kingdom.

History

It was founded in Hull in 1956 by Bernard Levy. The first UK big and tall retail outlet was opened on "Edgware Road" in London in 1959 as Northern Outsize Menswear. When the company continued to flourish and to open further stores in the UK, Holland and Germany, it changed its name in the process, becoming High and Mighty in 1969. The first store to use the name High & Mighty was at 177 "Brompton Road" London SW1, the store has now moved further up the road to Knightsbridge.

Market share

High and Mighty is today an international retail chain, with 25 stores in the UK and seven stores in Continental Europe. There is also a flourishing franchise scheme in progress. The first international franchise was opened in Reykjavík, Iceland in 2002 and based on this success two more franchise stores have opened in Belfast and Kuwait with more in negotiation.
