Hordle Walhampton Day and Boarding School

Hordle Walhampton Day and Boarding School

Hordle Walhampton Day and Boarding School is an independent school hosted in the Manor of Walhampton, in Lymington. It is the result of the 1997 merger of Hordle House School, situated in Milford-on-Sea, and Walhampton School, which was based at the current site. The latter was founded by Mrs. Brewer, who was the last owner of the Manor after the World War II, and it became a preparatory school in 1948, and was then turned into a charitable trust in 1954. It originally had two joint headmasters, John Bradfield and Peter Lawford. [http://www.hordlewalhampton.co.uk/pages/frames/school_info/school_info.htm]

The school welcomes approximately 400 children, aged 2 to 13, every year.

Hordle House School was founded in 1926 by the Rev E Whately-Smith.
