Hordle Walhampton Day and Boarding School is an independent school hosted in the Manor of
Walhampton , inLymington . It is the result of the 1997 merger of Hordle House School, situated in Milford-on-Sea, and Walhampton School, which was based at the current site. The latter was founded by Mrs. Brewer, who was the last owner of the Manor after theWorld War II , and it became a preparatory school in 1948, and was then turned into a charitable trust in 1954. It originally had two joint headmasters, John Bradfield and Peter Lawford. Hordle House School was founded in 1926 by the Rev E Whately-Smith.
