Parner

Parner is a tehsil in subdivision of Ahmednagar District in Maharashtra State of India.

Parner is the historic town. 'Parner' was named after Rishi Parashar. There are various places to visit in Parner Taluka viz. Bhairavnath Temple at Lonimawala, Pot Holes at Nighoj, Khandoba Mandir (Temple) at Pimpalgaon Rotha, Monkeys at Wadgaon Darya, Water Fall at Siddheshwar Temple. Old historic temples in Parner Town are famous for their varied Architectures.

Takali Dhokeshwar is famous for its geographical location. It is important place on the square of Mumbai - Vishakhapattanam (National Highway 222) and Baramat - Nashik highway. Village is famous for its quality educational institutes. Shri Dhokeshwer Vidyala is the most prominent institute in district. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is only one of its kind in district. Shri Dhokeshwer Temple is famous in not only district but in maharashtra also for its beauty. Its a ancient (about 1000 A.C.) temple cave of Lord Dhokeshwara. A huge fair is organized at every third monday of Sharawan. A lakhs of devoties from part of Maharashtra visits the cave temple to get blessing of lord Dhokeshawara. (Shahaji Udar) Bhairavnath temple is one of the famous temple which is at loniomawala. Lonimawala has historical value. There is big wall around the village. There is Shri chhatrapati shivaji vidyalay..It is Very famous for the Malganga Temple and Kund nearby 4 kilometers from Nighoj.Most of the people from Nighoj are now working in Mumbai with the fishing Business.There are Educational Schools like Shri Mulikadevi Vidya Mandir of Ahmednagar Jilha Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj and Malganga Vidyalaya. There is one river nearby village called Pushpawati.The most of the People Believe in the Malganga Temple which has a very great history of Ghagar(Pot) which comes out from the Barav on March of Devi Festival at night automatically. Nighoj contains 12 small villages in it like Raitale,Shirsule,Vadgaon, Patharvadi etc.Whenever there is water available in Barav or not but the Ghagar(Pot) always comes full of water with a water noise.Pot Holes at Nighoj are much more famous. The Nighoj Kund is also much more famous for the miracles. Lot of People from India and other countries as well come to see this miracle of God.

Bhoyare Gangarda is another good village in Parner. It is 8km away from Pune-Nagar Highway. It is surrounded by small mountaions (Khindi) from all directions.

Rui chhatrapati is another village locate 15 km from the Parner it is small village well known for its high school Shri Dnyaneshwar Vidyalaya in neighboring villages for good quality of education

Wadgaon savtal is located from parner about 30km.Thare is famous tmaple of shree datta savtal baba.Which is located about 2km from gaon in forest.

In Parner, near Magistrate office, there is Church Building named "Dr. Hume Memorial Church" which was founded by American marathi missionary "Dr Allen Robert Hume" in Year 1857.

Supa is place where now you can see Wind Mills(50-60) from 30-35 kilometers far all over the Mountains, this place is energy center in parner taluka.

Parner is at height about 600-900 meters from sea Level,you can observe Mountain ridges all over.

Water scarcity is major issue, but present(2008) MLA has done very good job. He has taken efforts, pains for water system. Now parner is having it's water supply from Mula dam which is near Ahmednagar.

Before 80-90 years this place was cool place due to forest, but due to deforestation cutting this place is now suffering huge water issue.

Parner Taluka is place in which you can find from almost everybody well educated, some of the villages are famous for military, Teacher services as one person from each home in military or as teacher.

Most popularly this Place is called as place of Teacher for above reason.

To reach Parner there is State Transport service from Ahmednagar(40 Kilometers), pune(85 Kilometers),Road conditions are very very good since last 30 years ;-)

Nearest railway station is Ahmednagar 40 Kilometers.

*Senapati Pandurang Mahadev Bapat: He was Revolutionary & great Indian Freedom Fighter. He was born in Parner Village.

*Padmabhushan Dr.Kisan Bburao alias Anna Hajare: A batchlar ex-army person from Ralegan Siddhi is famous in the world for his Water Harwesting and Village Development work. He is receiver of many precious awards like:Padmshri,Padmbhushan,Doctarate and special award fron UNESCO.(Shahaji Udar)

* Shri Ramakrishna Saraswati Kshirsagar Swamiji (1934 - 1999): Swamiji worked for the rejuvenation and revival of Vedas, Vedic Hindu traditions and Vedic ideology.Datta Kshetra have been formed by divine power of Ramkrishna Saraswati. His Birth Place is Parner Village.

*Parner is well known as the work place of the Senapati Bapat Hare another temple of sidheshwar is also wel known. Lawan stambha at Vadgaon Darya Are also well known.
