Lee Webb (newscaster)

Lee Webb is the anchor of "The 700 Club", the flagship program of The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), and "Newswatch", a half-hour daily news program also on CBNcite web |url=http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/Staff/lee_webb.aspx |title=Lee Webb bio |accessdate=2007-03-29 |publisher=CBN] . He was born in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Career

After graduating from Auburn University in 1975, he anchored and reported sports for WSFA-TV in Montgomery, Alabama. He worked as sports anchor for NBC affiliate WCKT (now WSVN) in Miami from 1977 to 1983, again for WCVB-TV in Boston in 1983, and weeknight news anchor for WTLV, the NBC affiliate in Jacksonville in 1986. He helped found Christians in the Media, a fellowship for local journalists, and is an elder in the Presbyterian Church in America.

In addition, he has performed eight years of military service, including deployment to Central America and Operation Desert Shield. He was a captain in the Florida Army National Guard.
