*Historically, most buildings built after WWII and throughout the cold war contained nuclear fallout shelters. Up until the demolition of the original building, LaBrae High School still had a nuclear shelter. The sign that designated the building containing a
fallout shelter remained near the front entrance up until the demolition.
*The wood shop, football field and parking lot is all that remain of the original location of LaBrae High School.
*The addition of the basketball gym (date needed) was embraced as being the largest gathering place in Trumbull County for a short time after it was built.
*LaBrae was named through a student vote in 1970. Braceville and Leavittsburg high schools voted to call the (then) combined school district LaBrae; being the first syllables of "Leavittsburg" and "Braceville".
*Scarlet and grey are the colors ofOhio State University . The Colors were voted on by the same students that voted for the name of the new school district.
* The current location of the high school is in conjunction with Bascom Elementary (1015 N Leavitt Rd).References
