European Organisation for Technical Approvals (EOTA) ( _de. Europäische Organisation für Technische Zulassungen, _fr. Organisation Européenne pour l’Agrément Technique is an international non-profit making association established in 1990 in Belgium. It was established under the provisions of the EC Council Directive of December 21, 1988 relating to construction products (Construction Products Directive 89/106/EEc). It is composed of the organizations nominated by the European Union Member States and the EFTA States which also may join and its primary purpose is the granting of the ETAs (European Technical Approvals) which are supposed to reduce technical barriers in the construction products sector.
