The Flores Long-nosed Rat ("Paulamys naso") was assessed to be extinct in 1996. This species is only to be confirmed to have existed by subfossil fragments. The subfossil fragments were found in Flores Island, Indonesia, so is thought to have previously resided there. It is the only member of the genus "Paulamys".
