37 BCE -668 ) was established and ruled by the descendants ofJumong . Long after Jumong, King Gwanggaeto Taewang, the 19th King of Goguryeo, greatly expanded Goguryeo's territory to more than twice the size of theKorean peninsula . The Taewangs remained completely independent of the ancient chinese dynasties until the reign of Goguryeo's 27th ruler, King Yeongryu Taewang, who submitted toTang Taizong , despite Goguryeo's victory over theSui Dynasty . Goguryeo fell in668 , during the reign of Goguryeo's 28th ruler, King Bojang Taewang.See also
