Hentor Sportscasters

Hentor Sportscasters

Hentor Sportscaster guitars are basically the Fender Stratocaster model, modified with a Shark replacement neck, Humbucker pickup and a Floyd Rose tremolo system.

The guitars were built for Alex Lifeson of Rush in the mid 1980s. The name was derived from a joke propagated by Alex in one of the band's tourbooks. [ [http://www.2112.net/powerwindows/GUPtourbook.htm Grace Under Pressure Tourbook] ] There was no real manufacturer called "Hentor" or model called "Sportscaster". They were simply custom guitars built on the Fender Stratocaster model.

'Hentor' was originally the name that Rush had for Peter Henderson, the producer of "Grace Under Pressure."
