bobtail squid native to the northernAtlantic Ocean . It ranges fromBaffin Bay in theCanadian Arctic south toSouth Carolina (32°N ) in the western Atlantic, and fromIceland ,Spitsbergen ,Scotland ,Barents Sea and theKara Sea to theNorth Sea and offIreland (51°N) in the eastern Atlantic.
