Traitor's Gate is the fourth episode in the first series of British TV series Spooks.

Plot

Tom's girlfriend, Ellie Simm gets suspicions of him, especially after he was shot at the Turkish Consulate. He was eventually forced to reveal his true identity as a spy. Meanwhile, with the US President's visit to the UK planned, anti-Bush rallies are also planned, so Danny and Zoe are sent to the rally to observe any suspicious activity. There, they notice Peter Salter (played by Anthony Stewart Head). He is Tom’s mentor and is on a joint secret operation with MI5 and MI6 to apprehend Istvan Vogel, the leader of an extreme anarchist group, and suspected of planning to disrupt the President's visit. However, it is later revealed that Salter has fallen for one of Vogel’s followers, a woman named Andrea. Tom confronts Salter, who later flees. Tom and his team try to find him, not knowing whose side he's on.

Zoe soon finds out that Tessa is conning her own office when she finds out that Tessa has set up phantom agents (agents who don't exist) and is pocketing their pay. When Zoe came to confront her, Tessa pays her £10,000 to keep her quiet.

Salter, Andrea and members of Vogel's break into a University campus and hacks into a computer. However security spots them and they were caught. Before Tom could find out what Salter was up to, he commits suicide before revealing what his plans were for Bush's visit. However Danny later finds out that Salter had been tampering with the Air Traffic Control system, to make the plane crash. Danna manages to divert the plane to Paris.
