John Mallard OBE FRSE was
Professor ofMedical Physics at theUniversity of Aberdeen from1965 until his retirement in1992 . He is known for his and his colleague's work in the development ofradionuclide imaging ,magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and, in particular,positron emission tomography (PET).Honours and Awards
In 1998, the "John Mallard Scottish PET Centre" was opened in
Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by the Minister for Health,Sam Galbraith .
