Waggener Edstrom Worldwide (WE) is one of the largest privately owned, full-service public relations agencies in the world. WE provides communications services to global organizations focused on innovation. The firm is perhaps best known as the longstanding PR firm for Microsoft.

Company history

Melissa Waggener Zorkin founded the Waggener Group in 1983, working at the time with Microsoft and other technology companies. In 1984, Pam Edstrom joined the Waggener Group as an agency partner to Melissa Waggener, and the firm was renamed Waggener Edstrom in 1990.

The agency broadened its client portfolio and range of services with specialized practices Consumer Marketing, Corporate Communications, Environment, Healthcare, Public Affairs and Technology. In 2005, the agency was renamed Waggener Edstrom Worldwide to better reflect its global operations across the U.S., Europe and Asia.

The agency has over 800 employees and 16 offices worldwide with U.S. headquarters in Seattle, European headquarters in London and Asian headquarters in Hong Kong, with further field offices in Austin, Texas; Beijing; Boston; Brussels, Belgium; Dallas; Munich, Germany; New York City; Paris; Portland, Oregon; San Francisco; Singapore; Shanghai and Washington, D.C. WE clients include eBay, Microsoft Corp., Samsung and T-Mobile USA.
