Ulbricht group

Ulbricht group

The so called Ulbricht group was a group of German communists, who were in Soviet exile during the time of National Socialism in Germany. It was named after the later SED-chairman and chairman of the Council of State in the GDR Walter Ulbricht. Their function was, among other things, to prepare, translate and spread propaganda material. After the German capitulation, the group made significant contributions to the rebuilding of the Soviet occupation zone.
