- A Million Penguins
A Million Penguins was a collaborative effort to write a
novel . The web site through which the novel was written used awiki for the authors to add their submissions. Due to the overwhelming number of edits, over 100 every hour, Penguin had to impose "reading windows"cite web|url=http://www.futureofthebook.org/blog/archives/2007/02/a_million_penguins_a_wikinovel.html|title=a wiki-novelty|accessdate=2007-02-22] whereby they freeze the novel so that the more serious editors can read over what has been changed and thus get their bearings on where the story is going. On
March 7 ,2007 , the Penguin Books UKblog announced that the project had come to an end. [ [http://thepenguinblog.typepad.com/the_penguin_blog/2007/03/a_million_pengu.html "A Million Penguins Go To Sleep"] ]Criticism
Penguin put a lot of effort into advertising the wiki-novel and it quickly became a target for
vandalism [cite web|url= http://www.business-standard.com/common/storypage.php?leftnm=lmnu4&subLeft=6&autono=274489&tab=r|title=The Million-Author Project|accessdate=2007-02-22] .ee also
