Philip Barlow

Philip L. Barlow, a Harvard-trained professor of theology and American religious history, has been named the country's first full-time professor of Mormon studies at a secular university. Utah State University chose Barlow for the Leonard J. Arrington Chair of Mormon History and Culture. He was the president of the Mormon History Association from 2005–2006. He received a bachelor of arts from Weber State College, a master of theological studies and a doctor of theology from Harvard University. He was previous professor of theological studies at Hanover College.
