Leo Marcus Newman was born on May 3, 1980 in Houston, Texas and is an American football player as a Cornerback and Kickoff returner. He was acquired as an undrafted free agent by the San Francisco 49ers in 2005 but was later waived by the team.

High school career

*Attended Madison High School before transferring to Worthing High School.

*Played Cornerback, Strong Safety, Wide Receiver, Kick Returner, and Kicker.

*Had over 5 INT's, 65 tackles, 7 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recover for a TD, and 1 sack his senior year.

*Made the Texas Regional Finals in the 100 m, 200 m and 4x100 m.

*Posted his fastest time of 10.49 in the regional finals of the class 4a 100 m despite coming in 5th place.

*Signed with Oklahoma State University.

*Graduated with a Computer Science degree as well as a Sociology Degree.

*Mentor is Darrell Green former Washington Redskins great.

*Made an appearance in the Jet Magazine April 2006 Issue.

*Cousin to Dallas Cowboys Cornerback Terence Newman.

College career

*Originally signed with Oklahoma State University in 1998.

*Played collegiate football at Lackawanna Junior College and Arizona Western College before enrolling into Kansas State University and then transferring to Texas A&M in Kingsville.

*Caught 1 Int, 3 fumble recoveries, 2 force fumbles, 1 sack and had 47 tackles in the 98-99 season @ Lackawanna Junior College. Receiving Junior College Preseason All American & All Conference Honors.

*Ran Track at Cloud County Community College. Ran his fastest time @ the National Junior College Indoor Meet with a time of 21.3 in the 200 m.

*Texas A&M in Kingsville 2004 he receive Iron Man of the Year, Second Team Lone Star Conference Academic Award, and Most Dedicated Award.
