Taos Talking Pictures Film Festival

Taos Talking Pictures Film Festival

The Taos Talking Pictures Film Festival ran from 1994 to 2003 with a peak budget of $750,000 in 2002 and attracted Hollywood stars like Elizabeth Taylor, James Coburn and Julia Roberts.

One of the more unconventional qualities of the awards given out is that winners were given convert|5|acre|m2 of mountain top (if deep in the desert) land donated by independent film maker Jeff Jackson and his Taos Land and Film Co.

Past winners included Gary Walkow (Notes from Underground), Constance Marks (Green Chimneys), Chris Eyre (Smoke Signals), David Riker (La Ciudad), Daniel Yoon (Post Concussion), and a lifetime achievement award for Guillermo Gómez-Peña.
