Kill Your Timid Notion

Kill Your Timid Notion

KYTN is an experimental arts festival that occurs annually in Dundee, Scotland. It has been based in the DCA venue since its inception in 2003. The festival lasts a weekend and combines left-field musical performances and experimental cinema showcases. Musical performances includes a variety of crowd pullers and relatively unknown performers from genres such as minimalism, drone, free folk, noise, improv and free jazz.

Past performers have included Cellule d'intervention Metamkine, Sachiko M & anthony McCall, Bruce McClure, Kazuo Imai & Atsuhiro Ito, Christian Marclay, Jennifer Reeves and Anthony Burr, Acid Mothers Temple, Philip Jeck, Fennesz, Tony Conrad and Text of Light and The Ruins. This event has more in common with Adventure in Modern Music and The Empty Bottle than other Scottish festivals such as T in the Park and Triptych.

Currently the festival is curated by Arika, who also organises other experimental art events such as Instal, Resonant Spaces and Music Lovers' Field Companion festivals'.
