Tommy Manotoc

Tommy Manotoc is a former Filipino basketball coach in the PBA, for the U-Tex Wranglers, San Miguel Beer and the Crispa Redmanizers and later became deputy commissioner of the Mariano Yenko. He was also a former broadcaster for the PBA on Viva TV coverage from 2000-2002. Manotoc is also an amateur golfer for little-known golf tournaments in the country.

Manotoc became the second coach in league history to lead a PBA to a grandslam when he coached Crispa to win all titles in 1983.

Manotoc married former 1970 Miss International Beauty Pageant Winner Aurora McKenny Pijuan in Dominican Republic. The couple has a son, now ABS-CBN sportscaster TJ, and a daughter named Mavis. The marriage ended in divorce after Manotoc had an extramarital affair with Imee Marcos, daughter of then Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos and First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos.

This illicit affair was a cause of embarrassment for President Fernandand Marcos and First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos because about 90% of Filipinos are Christians, where 81% belong to the Roman Catholic Church. Philippine law does not have allow divorce. Manotoc and Imee could not legally marry in the Philippines and their relationship was frowned upon by the mostly Roman Catholic Filipinos. Manotoc's and Imee's children, including Filipino celebrity Borgie Manotoc, were considered the "illegitimate grandchildren" of the President and First Lady.
