Ralph Nurnberger is Senior Partner in Nurnberger & Associates, a government relations and international affairs firm.

Nurnberger & Associates

Nurnburger speaks frequently throughout the country and internationally on political and foreign policy topics. His articles have appeared in "The Washington Post", "The Washington Times", the "Christian Science Monitor", the "Miami Herald", "Baltimore Sun" and numerous scholarly journals.

He has recently completed a volume entitled "Lobbying in America". His lobbying efforts have focused mainly on foreign policy and high technology.

He is a Principal with The Amani Group, a consulting firm specializing in government relations, education consulting, business advisory services and diversity counseling. US Executive Branch

He has held two positions in the executive branch, first as Special Assistant to the Administrator of the General Services Administration (GSA) and then as Director of Congressional Relations for the Bureau of Export Administration within the Department of Commerce. He has been an adviser to a number of Congressional, Senate and presidential campaigns, including serving on foreign policy task forces for the Al Gore and John Kerry presidential campaigns in 2000 and 2004. He also participated in a series of surrogate debates and authored widely distributed op-eds supporting these candidates.

1970s he served as legislative assistant for foreign policy and defense for Senator James B. Pearson (R-KS) and later as a professional staff member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee's Subcommittee on Foreign Economic Policy, chaired by Senator Frank Church (D-IA).

American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)

For more than eight years, he served as a Legislative Liaison for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)

He spent two years as a senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where he directed the Congressional relations program, ran a number of conferences, and co-authored and edited books dealing with Congressional leadership and the role of Congress in foreign policy.

Builders for Peace

Dr. Nurnberger was the first staff director of Builders for Peace, an organization established in 1993, with the encouragement of Vice President Gore, to assist the Middle East peace process by encouraging private sector investment in the West Bank and Gaza. In this position, he dealt directly with such world leaders as Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat. Dr. Nurnberger assisted a number of American firms to begin business ventures in the region; among other projects he was directly involved in the effort to construct a major international hotel in the region.

Indian American Center for Political Awareness (IACPA)

He helped establish the India Abroad Center for Political Awareness (IACPA) and served for eleven years as the Washington Director for this program. He set up and coordinated IACPA's activities, including a summer internship program which placed over 180 students in Congressional offices.

Georgetown University

Dr. Nurnberger is an adjunct professor of international relations at Georgetown University and has taught graduate level courses at Georgetown University since 1975. He was named "Professor of the Year" by the Graduate School of Liberal Studies in 2003 and in 2005 received another award commending his over twenty years of teaching excellence at Georgetown. His courses have included seminars Congress and international relations. His most recent courses dealt with the role of Congress in foreign policy, American foreign policy in the post 9-11 era and another on the Arab-Israeli conflict.
