Jim Brighters

Jim "Jimbo" Brighters (born 22 June, 1976) is an American columnist, golf writer and humorist.

He has served as golf editor at The Sports Network [ [http://www.sportsnetwork.com The Sports Network] ] in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, since 2001 and as a columnist for Metro newspapers [ [http://www.metropoint.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/Metro.woa/wa/selectEdition?countryName=USA&editionName=Philadelphia Metropoint] ] since 2005. His bi-weekly golf column, "Out of the Rough," [ [http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default.asp?c=sportsnetwork&page=golf-m/misc/out_of_rough_archive.htm Out of the Rough] ] draws heavily on the style of ESPN.com's The Sports Guy, Bill Simmons, and always ends with the a "Random Thoughts" section -- sardonic comments aimed at, among other things, afternoon soap operas, TV dramas and award shows. A January 2, 2007, "Random Thoughts" took to task Listerine's "Do Not Give To Children Under 12" warning. Education

Brighters was educated at LaSalle College High School and La Salle University in Philadelphia. He studied communication while in college.
