List of Icelandic submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film

Icelandic submissions for Academy Award for Best Foreign Film. The first film to be sent in was "Land and Sons" released 1980. After that Iceland has sent in one movie every year, not missing out one year.

Two Icelandic movies have been nominated for an Oscar. One feature length, and one short film. "Börn náttúrunnar" by Friðrik Þór Friðriksson got nominated for the best foreign film, but did not get the award. "Síðasti bærinn" by Rúnar Rúnarsson got nominated for best life action short film in 2006.
