Tevfik Kış (
August 10 ,1934 ,Çorum ), is a former Turkish European, World and Olympic champion sports wrestler in the Light heavyweight class (87kg) and a trainer. He won the gold medal in Men'sGreco-Roman wrestling at rhe 1960 Olympics.Born 1934 in Pelitcik village of
Kargı district in theÇorum Province , he began 1956 wrestling. Competing in Greco-Roman style, Tevfik Kış became gold medalist inwrestling at the 1960 Summer Olympics . He won later World and European championships. After his unsuccessful participation at the 1968 Summer Olympics inMexico City , he retired from the active sports and served then as trainer of his country's national team. Tevfik Kış is a co-founder of the Turkish Wrestling Foundation ans is active on its board.He is married with two children and lives in
Ankara running a restaurant.Achievements
