The Lake is home to a reasonably large population of tourists and campers in the summer months as there are three popular tent and trailer camps at the south end of the lake. A large and prospering clam population has been rumored to exist in the lake. Swimming, Sailing, canoeing, and fishing are popular pass-times on the lake,Northern Pike is the mains species of fish available for anglers here butsmallmouth bass andLargemouth bass are also fish in this lake. Lake Dore is said to be the largest fresh water lake inNorth America without any islands.
