Lake Dore is a freshwater lake in Renfrew County, Ontario, near Eganville, Ontario. It is drained by Snake River, which eventually flows into Muskrat Lake. The lake is about 8 km long and 5 km wide. The Lake is home to a reasonably large population of tourists and campers in the summer months as there are three popular tent and trailer camps at the south end of the lake. A large and prospering clam population has been rumored to exist in the lake. Swimming, Sailing, canoeing, and fishing are popular pass-times on the lake, Northern Pike is the mains species of fish available for anglers here but smallmouth bass and Largemouth bass are also fish in this lake. Lake Dore is said to be the largest fresh water lake in North America without any islands. Lake Dore is also known for being relatively shallow which is mostly true because it is only 60 ft deep in places, which provides for ample growth of underwater vegetation.
