Official World-wide Presentation in Mexico City during the Holy Mass

The Official World-wide Presentation of the Movement occurred in the Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico City (on May 1st, 2005) during the Holy Mass solemnly celebrated by four priests in the Mexican language and in the Nahuatl language, the native language of the Indian Saint Juan Diego. The Indian community, named "CONCHEROS," at the foot of the high altar, in the characteristic indigenous Mexican costume, honoured the Eucharistic Jesus with indigenous costumes, incensing during the Holy Mass, at the sound of the seashells.

The Basilica of Guadalupe, one of the largest in the world and having the greatest number of visitors per year, is in the form of a "seashell" both inside and out. Pope Pius VII, in 1805, united in perpetuity the Sanctuary of Guadalupe with the Basilica of Saint John Lateran, Cathedral of the Diocese of Rome. The Churches have their category, in first position is the Basilica of Saint Peter in Rome; followed by Saint John Lateran. The Basilica of Guadalupe, though, has an equally high position as that of the Lateran.
