Guerrilla Girls On Tour

Guerrilla Girls On Tour is a theatre company founded by three former members of Guerrilla Girls in 2001. They are anonymous and each of them has taken the name of a dead woman artist. When they appear on stage they wear masks to accentuate the comedic nature of their work as well as to put the focus entirely on celebrating and advocating for all women in theatre instead of on their individual personalities. They create performances, plays and street theatre actions that celebrate women’s history and prove feminists are funny. Using ensemble techniques drawn from vaudeville and physical theatre as well as using music, movement and parody they create theatrical pieces that are entertaining, informative and empowering. They include master classes and workshops with all of their tours and have worked with communities on creating site-specific works performed with local artists and non-artists from places like Warsaw, Poland to Hawaii.
