Rock Island High School, also known as "Rocky", is a public four-year high school located in Rock Island, Illinois. Rocky is in Rock Island School District 41, and the school colors are crimson and gold.

Justin Sharp

The Justin Sharp Memorial Shootout is named in honor of Justin Sharp, a former player at Rock Island High School. Justin died December 12, 2003 after a battle with leukemia. As a junior, Justin earned numerous awards such as: All-State Honorable Mention (IBCA), First Team All-Western Big 6, All-Metro (Rock Island Argus), Team Tri-Captain, Co-MVP, Best Defensive Player, Mr. Hustle, and Most Improved. Since his death, the Rock Island program has instituted the Justin Sharp 3-D Award. This award is presented to the player who best portrays Justin's 3 "D's" of Dedication, Desire, and Determination. Along with this award, the recipient receives a scholarship from Justin's Memorial Fund.The Davenport Central Program presents the Justin Sharp Passion Award to the player that best exemplified his passion to succeed.In addition, there is also a scholarship awarded to Quad City area students in Justin's honor that is funded by his Memorial Fund. The donation from this tournament goes directly to Justin's Memorial.
