Gabi Gazit ( _he. גבי גזית) is a popular Israeli journalist and radio host. Born in 1946 in
Czechoslovakia , he was raised in a religious family in the village of Kfar Yehoshua in theJezreel Valley . His mandatory military service in theIsrael Defence Forces was spent in aSayeret special forces unit. He was seriously wounded in aland mine explosion during theSix-Day War .Gazit has spent much of his media career working for the
Israel Broadcasting Authority , Israel’s government-funded broadcasting service. He has anchored and hosted many populartelevision andradio news and current events programs. Currently, he is the host of a radio program called “Ha-Kol Dibburim” הכל דיבורים (“All Talk”).Despite working in the government-funded media service, Gazit is known for his frank, independent and sometimes cynical opinions. He often targets government and institutional corruption. His program has a large audience and gives voice to the disenfranchised. He is known for embarrassing government officials and large corporations. Recently he has focused on unreasonably high
bank charges and the rights of survivors of theHolocaust to receive adequate social services and medical care.Because his politics tend to lean in the liberal-leftish direction, members of the Israeli right wing have repeatedly criticized Gazit. His attacks on the behavior of Jewish
settlers in theWest Bank have brought him under increased scrutiny and criticism. Attempts to remove him from his post in 2005 failed due to the popularity of his show.
