17 July 1657 inside the mouth of theDardanelles Strait . It was a victory for the forces ofVenice , theKnights of Malta and thePapal States over those of theOttoman Empire . The Turkish flagship and 2 other sailing ships ran aground and were burnt nearTroy , one was sunk nearTenedos and one was captured by "Principessa piccola". Of the rowing vessels, one galleass was sunk, 4 ran aground and several of these were burned about 3 days later and 1 was captured and 1 galley was captured by the Venetians either on the 17th or the 18th.hips involved
