Amateur God

Amateur God is a Slovenian ambient-pop duo fronted by composer and arranger Blaz Erzetic. Their influences range from Mylene Farmer, All About Eve, and Celtic Frost to Sisters of Mercy, Atrocity, and The Gathering.

Their debut album, "Near Life Experience", was released by Wampus Multimedia in 2002. They subsequently released "Around the Corners of Our Minds" and "Xenofeelia" on Black Rain Records.

T.G. Mondalf of the techno magazine "RhythmUS" observed of "Near Life Experience", "Hard metallic beats, droning ambience, mild vocal sampling, mellow acoustic guitar rhythms, piano, ambient electronica, and other eclectic elements combine to create something that might be like a softer Godflesh, darker Neubauten, harsher versions of Ethereal and even New Age elements... all combining to create an eclectic blend."

Modern Dance UK said, "You can't help yourself from being carried along with it, and the instrumentals have an abundance of catchy riffs and short intersections, which are intoxicating. The way it's all been assembled is fascinating."
