- Preprotachykinin
Preprotachykinin is the precursor of two common and important peptide neurotransmitters
substance P and neurokinin A (also called "substance K"). These two neuropeptides are both members of thetachykinin neuropeptide family and have roles in many biological processes from pain transmission to blood pressure control. Preprotachykinin is found in both the central nervous system and the periphery.References
