The Embassy of Turkey in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus ( _tr. Kıbrıs'da Türk Büyükelçiliği) is located in the Turkish Sector of Nicosia, just outside the walls of the Old City. It is unique in all of the foreign diplomatic missions located in Nicosia in that it is officially accredited to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), rather than the internationally recognized Republic of Cyprus as Turkey does not recognize the Republic of Cyprus government as a legitimate entity. The government of the Republic of Cyprus does not regard the Turkish Embassy as legitimate and prefaces any news releases regarding the embassy and the Turkish Ambassador with the words "so-called" and "illegal" [http://www.hri.org/news/cyprus/tcpr/2004/04-09-03.tcpr.html#05] .
The embassy was established in November 1983, shortly after the TRNC's unilateral Declaration of Independence. It is located just across the street from the TRNC Parliament Building.
