lateral line which is used to detect water pressure changes which may aid it to find prey or predators. Its nostrils are also sensitive, therefore having an acute sense of smell.Its lure, stereotypical of most deep sea fish, has been modified to form two hook-like strutures that ensnare the prey and throw it in to its enormous mouth.
